This article is part of a series on using craigslist to earn money from home remotely. It is currently in development, so please check back often for updates.

Creating your craigslist account

You are going to want to create a brand new craigslist account specifically for referral marketing. This helps keep things organized. Also, in the event that craigslist doesn't approve what you're posting, using a new account will protect your current account. Keep things separate. This would be a great time to also plan on using your fresh email (as discussed in this article) for doing surveys and anything work from home online related. I can't stress enough how important having a fresh email for online related stuff is.

So let's get going and create a craigslist account

There is some debate over whether or not you should use a different IP address to create a second account. You can always tether your hotspot to your PC or MAC and register a new account that way...or, just create the account on your cell phone using your provider's IP (Spint, T-Mobile, etc etc)

I personally don't think you should worry too too much about this because craigslist uses IP sniffing to find the bad guys, and will usually leave us alone. However, I will be creating a new account with my T-Mobile IP tethered to my MAC. See image and notes below:

So, you can see I put a red border around my tethered IP, my T-Mobile hotspot. You can also see my WiFi under the same name. "Gabriel" was my cat...I miss him. He's in everything I do. One of my businesses is named after him. Off topic, I have found that incorporating things I am passionate about brings joy and inspiration which I use to make money. I encourage you, as you're going through this journey to make $500 from home, that you too dig deep for inspiration. It will help you.

Now, I am going to create my new craigslist account and record the process for you. Video here:

Creating a new account was easy, there were no issues, the process was clean and direct. Success.

In the next article I'll be posting an ad. But before I do post, there are some things that I need to talk about.

  • What should be in the ad
  • Domains
  • Best practices
  • Appeals process when posting is "held for review" account goes on hold. This is just part of craigslists normal process. (If you recall, I discussed this in the first article here)

This concludes Part 2 on account creation of the craigslist series. Need to go over Part 1 again, read article here.

See you in Part 3 of the craigslist series on making money from home remotely.
